Please tell me there's something more news worthy happening in this world than Paris Hilton's temper tantrums in court.

Yes, Im sure there is something more newsworthy. I think its called Lindsay Lohan and rehab...no wait, thats Britney Spears and rehab...er, or is that Nicole Richie and a DUI....no wait, thats Ty Pennington, and I think it was a DWI. ARGH....who can keep it straight. Regardless, I think we're brainwashed to care....I mean, I think we're SUPPOSED to care. Yeah, thats right. We care.
Lest we forget Anna Nicole. Entertainment Tonight had *insert shocked look here* another story on her tonight. How do I know this? I was plugging my brain into the TV for its nightly charge-up. Doesnt everyone have to do that?
It's draining to watch the news and discouraging to know that society tells us we should care about these things. I don't want to care. I'd rather judge all these celebrities, label them as idiots or immoral and write them off. But maybe that's where I'm wrong. I don't know what it's like to have the world think you're beautiful and have an endless supply of money. I don't know what kind of life I would live if I were in similar circumstances. I don't want to care about these people because, if I believe they are real people with real lives, it will break my heary to see them struggle. But maybe it should. Maybe I should have a soft heart and pray for those who struggle. Maybe the news could be a reminder that we live in a broken world, where even the ones we "admire" are falling short. Maybe the news could be our call to prayer.
